Community Care Hospice Orange County

Dignity, comfort and personalized end-of-life care

Community Care Hospice Orange County stands as a testament to the enduring power of compassion and family legacy.

Founded by Cristina Allen, the agency specializes in in-home hospice care, providing comfort and dignity to patients and their families during life’s most delicate moments. For Cristina, the journey to this calling was deeply personal – rooted in the inspiration and passion of her mother, Vivian, a dedicated hospice nurse whose vision continues to shape the company’s mission.

“My mom started the original Community Care Hospice back in 2003 in Los Angeles,” says Cristina. “She and I always had such a beautifully close relationship and I truly admired her passion to serve.”

Growing up, Cristina was immersed in the world of hospice care, witnessing firsthand the profound impact her mother had on families navigating end-of-life transitions. “Hearing her help so many families, especially how she assisted her patients transition in peace, was such an incredible experience growing up,” she says.

Cristina’s own career initially took a different path − she spent over a decade in medical marketing, working with hospitals and doctors both nationally and internationally. Yet the dream she shared with her mother − to expand Community Care Hospice to their local community in South Orange County-remained ever-present.

“It was always our dream to expand Community Care Hospice to my local community here in South OC,” she says. “Unfortunately, time passed by and it wasn’t until my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer when we were determined to stop making excuses.”

Vivian’s passing last year marked a turning point. “I am so incredibly honored to be able to fulfill her legacy with this amazing opportunity to give back the way we envisioned,” says Cristina. Today, Community Care Hospice is not just a business – it’s a living tribute to a mother’s passion and a daughter’s commitment to making a difference.

What sets Community Care Hospice apart in a crowded field is its community-focused, multidisciplinary approach. “We are dedicated to serving our community by creating a local disciplinary team comprised of nurses, doctors, chaplains, social workers, and volunteers,” Cristina says. “It is imperative to actively listen to the needs of each individual patient as well as their families in order to construct a personalized care plan.”

Particularly proud of the agency’s holistic and comprehensive approach to pain management, Cristina shares that “the point of hospice is to provide the patient comfort and peace during their end-of-life journey. Along with traditional medicine, we plan to provide additional therapies that are all at no cost to our patients or their loved ones.”

By integrating both conventional and alternative therapies, Community Care Hospice aims to set a new standard for end-of-life care‐one that prioritizes dignity, comfort and individualized attention.

“We’re offering a more holistic and comprehensive approach to pain management,” she says. “The goal is to set a higher bar for end-of-life care that goes above what any other agency has ever done. For us, it’s exciting to set a new and better standard in our industry!”

A special point of pride for Cristina is the agency’s commitment to serving veterans. “We are deeply honored to serve those who have served our nation,” she says. With certified, licensed military chaplains, volunteers, and home aides, Community Care Hospice provides compassionate, personalized care to military patients and their families, offering guidance and comfort.

As Community Care Hospice continues to grow, Cristina shares that she is “beyond grateful to be continuing my family’s dreams and am truly blessed to help any way possible.”

In every patient they serve, Community Care Hospice honors a legacy of empathy, dedication and the unwavering belief that every life deserves comfort, dignity and peace.
